We’re banning the sale of ‘nangs’
From the second half of 2024, the purchase of nitrous oxide cannisters or 'nang’s will be limited to registered food and beverage businesses.
Under the regulations, small ten-gram nitrous oxide cannisters will only be accessible to registered food businesses, select businesses with a liquor licence and other persons approved by the Department of Health.
Recreational use and abuse of nitrous oxide poses significant health risks including permanent brain and spinal cord damage. By bringing in the toughest restrictions in the country, we’ll help protect WA kids from the harmful effects of ‘nangs’.
