About the Hillarys electorate

The Legislative Assembly District of Hillarys is a picturesque coastal electorate located between the Mitchell Freeway and some of Western Australia’s most spectacular coastlines, north of Hepburn Avenue and south of Ocean Reef Road.

The electorate boasts many spectacular beaches and parkland. Additionally, it is home to the well-renowned Hillarys Boat Harbour, a favourite destination for local families and visitors alike.

Fun fact: Hillarys is named after Bertram John Hillary, a Gallippoli war veteran who died in 1957 and who set up the first beach shack on a lonely stretch of beach back in 1930.

It is home to 29,875 electors and is contained within an area of 25 sq km.

Residents living in the suburbs of Beldon, Craigie, Hillarys, Kallaroo, Mullaloo and Padbury are a part of the Hillarys electorate.

Recently, the Western Australian Electoral Comission conducted a redistribution of the electoral boundaries. These new boundaries will come into affect at the 2025 State Election.

As a result, resident south of Hodges Drive in Ocean Reef will be part of the Hillarys electorate. Additionally, residents east of Gibson Avenue will become part of the Carine electorate.
